Abstract

This research aims to determine the presence of antibiotics Ampicillin, Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid, Cefotaxime, Gentamicin, Tetracycline to Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from cows rectal swab. In this study, 30 samples taken from two locations of sampling. The samples obtained were cultured on differential media on Mac Conkey Agar (MCA). Idetifitication of sample isolates based on the Gram staining, sugar test, Methyl Red-Voges Proskauer (MR-VP) test, citrate test, urea test, Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA) test, and motility test on Sulfide Indol Motility (SIM). Sensitivity test of Ampicillin Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid, Cefotaxime, Gentamicin, Tetracycline antibiotics against Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria performed in vitro using Kirby-Bauer method. The results of this study were one (3,3%) of 30 samples positive of Klebsiella pneumoniae. The result of sample identification shows that Gram staining is Gram negative, short stem. The biochemical tests on the sample were negative MR, positive VP, positive sugars, positive citrate, positive urea, indol negative and non motile on SIM media, and acid/acid, positive gas, negative H2S on TSIA. Positive isolates Klebsiella pneumoniae showed sensitive to antibiotics Ampicillin, Amoxicillin Clavulanic Acid, Cefotaxime, Gentamicin, and Tetracycline.
