Abstract

This study aimed to observe the commercial pasteurized dairy milk safety that sold by street vendors at Wonocolo Surabaya. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of BSL-2, Institut Tropical Disease for the isolation, identification and counting of Staphylococcus aureus with spread plate method, gram staining, catalase test, and coagulase test as confirmation from March to April 2018. Thirty samples of commercial pasteurized dairy milk were bought from three street vendors. The results of CFU calculation on commercial pasteurized dairy milk sold by street vendors showed 1.5 x 102, 2.0 x 102, 1.3 x 102, and 1.6 x 102 indicates that commercial pasteurized dairy milk that sold at Wonocolo Surabaya does not meet SNI 7388:2009 1 x 102 for Staphylococcus aureus
