Abstract

This study is telling us about the different style, technique in news translation. Jawa Pos Newspaper apply their standard to make their own characters to serve their readers news every day. In case, for the international page that the writer has done for the internship, she got many differences between translating news from her own style with the style' of Jawa Pos Newspaper. First, in Jawa Pos Newspaper, a lead of paragraph is an important thing to interact the readers. Second, they always do select words and collecting facts according to their sources to get complete information and data. Third, they always use the communicative stage and deliver a simple definition of terms. Fourth, while delivering a statement, they put in simple, clear and dense words, so the readers can imagine that the writer is telling a story to them. The last, with the "Satu Kata" dictionary, Jawa Pos has also their own daily language that still relates to EYD ( Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan) in Bahasa Indonesia. The next is about news value essence that Jawa Pos applied while selecting news from international sources. They always pay attention to the actual, significant, affected to the crowd, closeness, outstanding, and consist of human interest when delivering their news to the readers. This is very important to Jawa Pos Koran existence in their reader across Indonesia. There are also some added values that the writer got during the internship. The writer learns to be work under pressure as a journalist in a newspaper company, how to work in a team and how to communicate with work partners. Moreover, the writer also learns the ethics of journalism.
