Abstract
This study was made to know the histopathological changes of skeletal muscle in broiler chicken that infected by L2Toxocara vitulorum as a paratenic host and its potential zoonotic risk by consuming infected chicken. This study used 36 chickens aged 14 days, experimentally inoculated with 3000 embryonated eggs of Toxocara vitulorum, was examined 1, 2, 3, 7, 14 and 21 days post-infection (dpi). Pathologic findings showed that larvae migrated in different organs of chickens. The duodenum, liver, lungs, heart and muscles of the chickens were trypsin digested for larval recovery. Histopatological observed that hemorrage, myonecrosis, inflammation were found in some part of the pectoral muscle. Macroscopic views of the muscle shows some sign of lesion.
