Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know cross reaction Trichuris ovis protein with anti Moniezia expansa serum by using Western Blot technique. The result can be used as Trichuriasis serologic diagnostic. This research was conducted using Trichuris ovis worm collected from the caecum of small ruminant especially goat and Moniezia expansa worms collected from small intestine of goat. The worms were crushed and added with Phospate Buffer Saline (PBS) to make homogenate and then centrifuged at a speed 3500 rpm for 15 minutes. Homogenate Moniezia expansa was immunized to mice to obtain serum anti-Moniezia expansa at a dose of 200 µg/mice and booster 3 times with a span of two weeks. The homogenates was performed by SDS-PAGE technique to analyze the protein by using Commasie briliant blue staining. Cross reaction of Trichuris ovis protein with serum anti-Moniezia expansa by using Western blot technique and obtained 13 protein bands are 305, 126, 54, 38, 35, 33, 30, 27, 26, 21, 18, 17, 9 kDa.
