Russia is a country located between the continent of Europe and Asia, where it has closeness relation to the West in previous eras. Orientation shift towards the East began since Mikhail Gorbachev era, but reported stagnation. Asia is considered as important as Europe. Pivot to Asia increased after 2012. Through domestic politics level of analysis, interest is seen as important factor to explain the shift and increase of pivot to Asia. Political interests will be represented by small groups or inner circles of the government. This study found that business and military blocks have a tendencies to increase pivot to Asia. Business blocks see Asia’s rapid development to expand their business to Asia. Meanwhile, the military blocks want to change Russia's position in the region. This blocks see Russi’s possibility to become a stability and regional keeper. This study can help us to understand more about domestic politics in foreign policy analysis.
