Abstract

This study is aimed to analyze the crisis management of Public Relations conducted by PT. Abadi Cement in the settlement of the conflict with the community in the phase of land acquisition. To analyze this, researcher used a qualitative approach with explorative research type. While the research method used is case study. The research data was obtained through in-depth interviews. The results of this study indicate that the level of crisis faced by the company has reached acute crisis. In response to the crisis, Public Relations (PR) PT. Abadi Cement uses problem solving steps using fact finding, planning, and action methods as follows. First, they use distance strategy by reducing the intensity of meetings with citizens and not installing banners or logos on the activities of citizens funded by the company. This is done to minimize the conflict and give the impression to the public that they do not force the citizens to free their land. The Company is also preparing a program of Sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility in facing the next phase of the construction phase. The company uses a personal approach to the opinion leaders of religious leaders and village heads to manage conflict. Public Relations Function at PT. Abadi Cement is run by Business Representative. Public Relations at PT. Abadi Cement act as a facilitator of communication between the organization and the public. In managing communication in crisis, PT.
