Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the kind of nematodes which infected small intestine of cow slaughtered at RPH Pegirian Surabaya using gastrointestinal surgery method. Twenty five samples of cow’s small intestines were collected from RPH Pegirian on Agustus to Octobers 2018. Fresh adult worms were then collected using gastrointestinal surgery method, afterwards using Semichen-Acetic Carmine stainning method to makes the object easy to microscopic identify. The result showed type of nematode worm that Toxocara vitulorum, Bunostomum phlebotomum, and Gaigeria pachyscelis. The characteristic of Toxocara’s worms can be seen macroscopically because it is the longest worm that predilects in the small intestine, while Bunostomum phlebotomum and Gaigeria pachyscelis, as an identify result show that adult worm has a character on a anterior part called dorsal cone and lancet subventral. Female worm has a vulva in the middle of the worm's body, posterior part of male worm has a bursa copulatrix and spicula.
