Abstract

the Dutch East Indies Government. The dam was built by Dutch Government on the Brantas River, Lengkong, Mojokerto. The purpose of this research is to describe the building of the Lengkong Baru Dam between 1961 - 1974. This research uses the historical method by deciding the topic, data gathering, source criticism, and writing. The data is collected from the results of the interview, newspapers, online forms, archives, books, and others. The results of data analysis show that the Lengkong Lama Dam had been used the less efficient operating system. The Lengkong Dam required much effort and time for manual operation. The building of Lengkong Baru Dam must be done by considering the flow of the Brantas River. In 1970, Lengkong Dam had developed by Brantas Project with self-management after Japanese contractors dealt with the contract. The Lengkong Dam inaugurated in 1973 after the construction had finished. The Lengkong Dam which built by The Dutch Government is called Lengkong Lama Dam, while the development dam from 1970-1973 were called Lengkong Baru Dam.
