Abstract

Based on the research that has been done, it is produced that the majority of parents of pediatric patients have insufficient knowledge about the dangers of radiation on the CT-Scan examination of Children at the GDC radiology installation of Dr. Soetomo Hospital. But after getting education about the dangers of radiation on a Child CT-Scan examination, there is a significant level of knowledge of parents to be good. Before being given education, only 5 people (17.9%) had good knowledge, after being educated 24 people were respondents (85.7%) who had good knowledge. The low level of knowledge of parents about the effects of radiation hazards is caused by a lack of information obtained from radiologists and radiographers. Therefore, an educational action is needed to increase the knowledge of parents of pediatric patients regarding the effects of radiation hazards on CT scan.
