Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify spermatozoa morphometry of Saanen and Sapera goats. The morphometry examination was taken from 9 ejaculates of each goat and 50 samples of spermatozoa were measured for each ejaculate. Morphometric parameters were calculated, namely the area of the head, perimeter of the head, head width, head length, neck length (middle piece), tail length (principal and end piece), and total length of the spermatozoa. The results of measurements using a trinocular microscope Nikon Eclipse E200 with NiS Element 4.40 software. Spermatozoa morphometry Saanen goats have a head area of 32.61 ± 2.42 μm2, head perimeter 22.44 ± 0.99 μm, head width 4.65 ± 0.18 μm, head length 8.68 ± 0.27 μm, neck length (middle piece) 2.32 ± 0.25 μm, tail length (principal and end piece) 38.53 ± 1.71 μm, and total length of spermatozoa 58.95 ± 2.14 μm. Morphometry of spermatozoa of Sapera goats has a head area of 33.33 ± 2.42 μm2, head perimeter 22.83 ± 0.89 μm, head width of 4.66 ± 0.22 μm, head length of 8.82 ± 0.26 μm, neck length 12.88 ± 0.94 μm, tail length 40.83 ± 6.91 μm, and total length 62.5 ± 7.61 μm.Determination of the spermatozoa precentage X and Y based on the average morphometry of the area of the head. The Saanen goat has 48,89% spermatozoa X chromosome and 51,11% spermatozoa Y chromosome. Sapera goats has 46,22% spermatozoa X chromosome and 53,78% spermatozoa Y chromosome.
