Abstract
The aimed of this study was to determinate antimalarial activity of ethyl acetate fraction of Johar leaves (Cassia siamea Lamk). In vitro test of the ethyl acetate fraction performed using G2300 strain of Plasmodium falciparum (chloroquine-resistant) which has been synchronized and incubated for 48 hours. The concentration of the test solution of ethyl acetate fraction were used at 100 ug/ml, 10 ug/ml, 1 ug/ml, 0.1 mg/ml, 0.01 ug/ml. The results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction of C. siamea Lamk leaves have antimalarial activity against P. falciparum G 2300 strains chloroquine resistance with IC50 values was 4.46 ug/ml.
