Abstract
Pregnancy is an important phase on a woman life that could change the women not only physically, but also psychologically, socially, and spiritually. Those changes may trigger anxious feelings. One of the ways to improve spiritual adaptation and reduce the anxiety is the exposure of spiritual support. This research aimed to analyze the correlation between spiritual support, spiritual adaptation, and the anxiety level of pregnant women in Rumah Sakit Ibu dan Anak Cempaka Putih Permata Surabaya. Method: This reseach was a correlational-cross sectional study. The respondents of this research were 100 pregnant women that had been recruited by the consecutive sampling method. The data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Spearman Rank Correlation (rho) with significance level of α<0,05. Result: The result of the study showed that spiritual support has a correlation with axiety (p=0,025; r=-0,224) and spiritual adaptation of pregnant women (p=0,00; r=0,507). Discussion : Spiritual support triggered the positive coping mechanism which can decrease the anxiety level of pregnant women. Spiritual support also improves the spiritual adaptation during pregnancy. Further studies are needed to explore other factors that could affect the spiritual adaptation of a pregnant woman.
