Abstract

This study is on theory level. The purposes is giving comprehension about legal aspect of nursing care, for the sake of health service in hospital. The approach use are empirical approach and yuridisch approach. The main role of nurse is giving nursing care. Nursing care is done by the following the steps determined in nursing process. In this case, the nurses do three functions, namely; independent function, interdependent function and dependent function, Normative instrument of nursing process used to be basic and guide to give nursing care are Kode Etik Keperawatan Indonesia, Profession Standard, Nursing Care Standard and Nurse Oath. Nurse status is always hospital officer. That's way the nurses do not have liability if there is something wrong in giving health care. But the nurses still have responsibility in doing independent function and doing medical care that not in line with doctor's order.
