Abstract

Mucoadhesive sustained release metronidazole vaginal tablets containing Carbopole 940 had been studied. Tablets were Granules were prepared by dry prepared weighing 200 mg. The drug-polymer ratio was 1: 4. granulation method. Slug were passed through ASTM 20 mesh and evaluated for moisture content, particle size distribution, compressibility, now ability and drug content. The tablets were compressed using a hydraulic press at '1 ton compression force for 3 second. In vitro studies for drug release and mucoadhesion properly. Result of the release study lot 12 jam showed 97,83 ± 0,46 % (batch 1% and 95,63 I 0,64 % (batch 2). Results of mucoahesion properties exhibited 33,20 t 6,03 g (batch 1) and 34,80 t 9,60 g (batch 2.)
