Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of ownership concentration and institutional ownership on leverage. In this study there are also control variables namely profitability as measured by ROA, company size and company age. The sample in this study was 50 infrastructure, utility and transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2013-2017. The analytical model used is multiple linear regression and processed using SPSS 21. The dependent variable in this study is leverage. The independent variable used is the ownership concentration and institutional ownership. The multiple linear regression results show that the ownership structure has a significant positive effect on leverage. Institutional ownership has a significant negative effect on leverage. ROA as a control variable has a negative effect on leverage. Size and Age as a control variable have a significant positive effect on leverage.
