Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis apakah komoditi ekspor SITC 65 Indonesia mempunyai keunggulan komparatif ke Amerika Serikat dan bagaimana pengaruh komoditi ekspor SITC 65 terhadap ekspor Indonesia selama periode 1985 sampai dengan 2003. Teknik analisis perhitungan indeks RCA digunakan untuk menganalisis apakah komoditi ekspor SITC 65 Indonesia mempunyai keunggulan komparatif ke Amerika Serikat, selain itu juga digunakan teknik estimasi OLS dengan metode regresi linier berganda untuk melihat pengaruh RCA terhadap ekspor Indonesia bersama-sama dengan variabel nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar Amerika dan GDP (Gross Domestic Bruto) Amerika Serikat selama periode 1985 sampai dengan 2003. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komoditi ekspor tekstil SITC 65 Indonesia yang dihitung dengan indeks RCA tidak mempunyai keunggulan komparatif (comparative disadvantage), walaupun tidak mempunyai keunggulan komparatif RCA mempunyai pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan secara statistik terhadap ekspor Indonesia. ABSTRACT This study intends to analyze that Indonesian export commodity of SITC 65 to USA has comparative advantage and how its effect on Indonesian exports for period 1985 to 2003. RCA indices used to analyze the comparative advantage of Indonesian SITC 65 to USA. In addition, econometric analysis by OLS used to estimate the RCA effect on Indonesian exports. For that purpose we also estimate the effect of exchange rate rupiah/dollar and USA Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The results of this study shows that RCA indices of Indonesian export commodity of SITC 65 has no comparative advantage. Although has no comparative advantage the econometric estimate of export equation provide evidence the RCA indices has positive effect and statistically significant on Indonesian exports.
