Abstract

The purpose of this study was to detect the sensitivity of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from raw milk to some antibiotics. Staphylococcus aureus was isolated from Samples were taken from 12 milk collection posts at KUD Semen, Blitar District. The media used to isolated Staphylococcus aureus was Manitol Salt Agar (MSA). Yellow colonies were growing on the media would be identification by many tests such each catalase test and coagulase test. Through several test, from 36 sampels obtained 11 (31%) positive Staphylococcus aureus. Antibiotic sensitivity test was performed by diffusion method on the surface of Müller- Hinton Agar (MHA) media and four kind of antibiotic discs were applied. The results of the Staphylococcus aureus bacterial sensitivity test to several antibiotik were 7 (64%) resistant isolates, 2 (18%) intermediate isolates, and 2 (18%) isolates sensitive to Tetracycline. The sensitivity test results for Linezolid were 1 (9%) resistant isolates and 10 (91%) sensitive isolates. There were 1 (9%) isolates of intermediates and 10 (91%) isolates were sensitive to Levofloxacin, and 11 (100%) isolates were sensitive to Meropenem. Resistance to Tetracycline can occur due to irregular use or less long treatment time. The conclusion of this study is that Staphylococcus aureus from raw milk in Semen KUD Gandusari Sub- District, Blitar District is resistant to Tetracycline, but sensitive to Levofloxacin, Linezolid, and Meropenem.
