Abstract

Endosulfan is one of the organochlorine insecticide that is widely used on agricultural. The application of pesticide could leave residues on vegetables. Endosulfan is used in the leaves of the plant but it may have translocated to the roots. This condition can lead contamination in carrots, because carrot is a tuber in the soil. The purpose of this research is to obatain a valid method in determining endosulfan’s residues on carrots as a surveillance of agricultural products. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to determine endosulfan residu in the research, mass spectrometry is also able to qualitatively identify the component using library match of the fragmentation. The method validation gave a good result for parameter selectivity, represent as resolution have value greater than 1,5. It show a good linierity with r > 0,99. Range average % recovery of this method from 79,22% to 133,81% with % RSD 13,91%; 19,28% and 28,79%, for this % recovery and % RSD out of limit acceptance range.
