Abstract
Anterior crossbite is defined as an abnormal reversed relationship of a tooth or teeth to the opposing teeth in the buccolingual or labiolingual direction. This anterior crossbite treatment can be treated using a fixed Z spring appliance. Purpose: To report the fabricating of fixed Z spring in anterior crossbite case. Case: The dental laboratory received a dental cast of a 9-year-old patient with an anterior crossbite, and was asked to make a fixed Z spring appliance. The components of fixed Z spring appliance were double cantilever spring from 0,5 mm stainless steel wire, Nance appliance with palatal bow from 0,9 mm stainless steel wire. The Z spring was placed in the acrylic button of the Nance appliance. Conclusion: The procedure of fabrication of fixed Z spring in anterior crossbite includes: soldering palatal bow on adjusted molar band in 16 and 26. Z spring on 21 was made and then placed it in the acrylic button, followed by finishing and polishing.
