Abstract
Background. Periapical granuloma is a periapical inflammatory lesion that occurs for a long time and goes along with periapical bone resorption. Purpose. This study aims to determine the variety of protein with kilodalton (kDa) molecular weight that was identified in periapical granulomas using SDS PAGE. Method. This study is a descriptive exploratory study using a cross sectional study design. Results. The results showed protein bands were detected in relative molecule mass in 8.483 kDa; 12.130 kDa; 54.308 kDa; 58.139 kDa; 21.925 kDa; 175.388 kDa; 45.304 kDa; 67.531 kDa; 31.423 kDa; 27.444 kDa; 17.513 kDa; 14.067 kDa; and 4.717 kDa. Conclusion. The molecular weight of the protein contained in periapical granuloma was 8.483 kDa; 12.130 kDa; 54.308 kDa; 58.139 kDa; 21.925 kDa; 175.388 kDa; 45.304 kDa; 67.531 kDa; 31.423 kDa; 27.444 kDa; 17.513 kDa; 14.067 kDa; and 4.717 kDa.
