Abstract

Increasing the number of DM patients becoming one of the global health threats (Perkeni, 2015) and 70% DM cases are mostly in developing countries including Indonesia (Tot et al., 2016 in Tristiana et al, 2016).The American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the Indonesian Endocrinology Society (PERKENI)recommend resistance exercise to improve blood glucose for patients with type 2 diabetes.Analyze the effect of resistance exercise on blood glucose and HbA1C in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.We identified articles through databse searching: Sage, Proquest, Science Direct, Springerlink, and EbscoHost, published between (2008-2018).Seven articles were analyzed and selected from 65 journal articles found for this systematic review. The studied evaluated that the resistance exercise intervention are recommended for patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
