Abstract

The aims of this study was to determine the substitution of fish meal using barnacles meal (Cirripedia sp.) to the dry matter digestibility and organic digestibility on male rex type rabbits. Rabbits was placed in individual cages with feed that had been adjusted to their needs. The composition precentage of fish meal and barnacle meal in each treatment were P0 (fish meal 15% + barnacle meal 0%), P1 (fish meal 12,5% + barnacle meal 2,5%), P2 (fish meal 10% + barnacle meal 5%) and P3 (fish meal 7,5% + barnacle meal 7,5%). Data collection was carried out after a maintenance period. Data such as feces and feed consumtion rate was collected in last 7 days of maintenance period. The value of dry matter and organic substance were collected using proximat analysis. This study used completely randomized design with four treatments and five replications in each treartment so the number of rabbits was twenty in total. The result of this study were analysed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) with significance level 5%. Based on the result showed that there were no significantly difference (p>0.05) on the digestibility value of dry matter and organic substance in each treatment group. In conclusion barnacle meal can be used as a feed substitution of fish meal in complete feed for male rex type rabbits up to 7,5%.
