Abstract

Inotropic and vasopressor areone of the treatment of cardiogenic shock in order to improve haemodynamic situation. Inotropic are used to enhance the cardiac contractility who've not worked correctly in cardiogenic shock. Vasopressor are used to help inotropic with the mechanism of vasoconstriction. The aim of this study was to analyze the utilization of inotropic and vasopresor in cardiogenic shock patient at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya. The study was retrospective using data from medical recods during the period January 2011 – December 2013. The result showed that inotropic and vasopressor used in cardiogenic shock in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya was dopamine, dobutamine, and norepinephrine. Dopamine was administered at dose3 - 10 μg/kg/minute; Dobutamine was administered at dose 2 - 7 μg/kg/minute; Norepinephrine was administered at dose 0,05 - 0,25 μg/kg/minute. The combination and change of doses and theraphy depends on patient’s condition. Drug related problems that found in this study were adverse drug reactions like tachycardia. Drug utilization of inotropic and vasopressor on cardiogenic shock patient in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital were appropriate according to Guideline in Management of Cardiogenic Shock
