Abstract

As the one of lifestyle radio station in Indonesia, Sindo Trijaya FM always tries to give the most accurate news and best entertainment to its listeners especially in Surabaya. Sindo Trijaya FM becomes one of the successful radio stations in Surabaya because it has a good synergy with other media of MNC Group (Harian Sindo, Sindo TV, Majalah Sindo, and (www.sindones.com) their programs which are very informative and entertaining, support their radio station to be acceptable for Surabaya people. The writer did her internship as a script writer who has a vital role to support Sindo Trijaya FM’s performance and program. During her internship. The writer gained a lot of experiences. The time of the internship was enough for the writer to adapt in the new environment and got knowledge which enhanced her skills. One of the new skills that the writer practiced during the internship are writing scripts of Tiga Berita, Penulis Bicara, Woman says program and assisting marketing officer. She was supported and guided by supervisor, producer, and also radio announcer who were always patient and friendly in teaching the writer how to do her works. The writer also gained a lot of information about Sindo Trijaya FM Surabaya and also how to maintain radio programs. Learning from the experiences the writer has one recommendation to Radio station. It is good if it provides more training and information about radio to internship students, especially to to those who will do their internship as script writers. The other recommendation is for English Department. It should develop a new form of writing course by adding some practice on writing scripts which may provide information and exercise to students who will do their internship at radio stations as script writers. The writer is delighted to be an apprentice at Sindo Trijaya FM. The working atmosphere in Sindo Trijaya FM is conducive because all people who work there are professional, discipline, friendly, and competent. This situation made the writer feel comfortable to do the task from the company. In addition, working in Sindo Trijaya FM is pleasureable and fun because the writer got new family, a lot of benefit and also could distribute her passion in broadcasting. Hopefully, the writer hopes that knowledge and experiences that she got could be useful for the next time.
