Abstract
Tradit ionally, kencur r hizome ( Kaempferia galanga L ) was used to reduce pain . Analgesic activity was studied using Writhing test methode . The equivalent dose of 96 % ethanol extract , EPMS, APMS , and mixture of APMS and EPMS (30 mg EPMS) was administered orally. The number of abdominal constrictions on mice were counted during 30 min. The result was analysed by Annova One Way continued LSD as Post Hoc Test and showed significant difference with p=0.000 (P<0.05) in APMS, EPMS, mixture of APMS and EPMS, an d 96 % ethanol extract compared to negative control . The 96 % ethanol extract of kencur rhizome , showed the highest of pain protection.
