Abstract

The purpose of this research is to test the effect of ownership concentration on firm performance with investor protection quality as a moderation variable. The research samples are manufacturing companies which are listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2013-2017. There were 302 observations sampled in the research. The research employs multiple linear and moderated regression analysis techniques. The firm performance is a dependent variable of the research. The ownership concentration is an independent variable of the research. The investor protection quality as a moderation variable of the research. The result of the research confirms the negative effect of ownership concentration on firm performance. With regard to the moderating role of investor protection quality on ownership concentration-firm performance relationships, the result shows that investor protection quality would significantly moderate, which weakens the effect of the ownership concentration on firm performance
