Abstract

Indonesia is currently one of the countries experiencing economic growth. The manufacturing industry is one of the industrial sectors that affects economic growth. With the increasing manufacturing industry in Indonesia, tighter competition between manufacturing sectors will occur. This will make companies continue to compete in finding ways to produce goods and services that fit the needs of the consumer market. Chumplung Adji Craft is a company engaged in manufacturing with handicraft products. This research was conducted because the production unit often creates product defects. To solve this problem, this research was conducted with the DMAIC method (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) from Six Sigma. This study uses various tools in identifying and analyzing problems that occur, such as SIPOC diagrams, CTQ, pareto diagrams, fishbone diagrams. The results obtained from this study are 3 types of disability, namely less neat cutting, sanding that is not according to standards, and imperfect perforation. Factors that cause product defects include; human factors, machine factors, and method factors. The sigma level of the average of all defect types is 3.79.
