Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine characterization of proniosome ibuprofen - Span 60 - cholesterol with molar ratio of 2:1:0,75 ; 2:1:1 ; and 2:1:1,25 for formula I,II,and III respectively using ethanol 96% as a solvent and phosphate buffer pH 6,0 as an aqueous phase. Evaluations of each formula were included organoleptics, morphology of proniosome, form of niosome, diameter size of niosome, and percentage of drug entrapment. The result showed that the proniosome had a semisolid liquid crystal gel structure of its morfology, niosome had a white spherical form in nano diameter size. Drug entrapment were 91,27±0,57% for formula I, 90,31±1,39 % for formula II, and 89,11±1,53% for formula III. The result was analyzed by statistical program using One Way Anova at degree of confident 95% (α = 0,05). Research result showed that there was no significant relation between increasing number of cholesterol concentration and percentage of drug entrapment.
