Abstract
Synthesis of 6-(indol-1-ylmethyl)pinostrobin consists of two main steps. The first step was called as initial step to obtain iminium salt, an intermediate product, resulting from reaction of indole and formalin. The second step was formation of Mannich base, that was 6-(indole-1- ylmethyl)pinostrobin, resulting from the reaction of the iminium salt and pinostrobin. The second step was run in three different reaction times, 18 hours, 20 hours and 22 hours respectively. The reaction product was separated by column chromatography to give dark yellow solid in the highest yield of 2,9%. It be concluded that there was an increase in percentage reaction yield of the target compound in line with increasing of reaction time. Using IR and H-NMR analysis, the product was determinated as 6-(indol-1-ylmethyl)pinostrobin.
