Abstract

The prevalence of people with HIV/AIDS is increasing despite the availability of advanced antiretroviral drugs. Since there is currently no cure for AIDS, the overall rate of opportunistic infection and HIV associated disease including neurological disease in people with AIDS become increasing too. This problem has made HIV/AIDS remains global health problem. HIV enters the CNS early in the course of infection. This infection is associated with a variety of neurological problems commonly occurs in the late stage of the disease. These include HIV/AIDS associated complex dementia, toxoplasmosis encephalitis, cryptococcus meningitis, polineuropathy, myelopathy, peripheral neuropathy, tuberculus meningitis which can be the result of direct and indirect invasion of HIV. A better management therapy is urgently needed to keep quality of life people with HIV/AIDS high as long as possible.
