Abstract

Seizure in status epilepticus is a pediatric emergency with high mortality rates. Early recognition of seizure, early mobilization to adequate health-center, and early anticonvulsant are warranted. This paper is aimed to highlight the emergency treatment of SE and seizure in neonate due to current research and practice recommendation. Current guideline focus on status epilepticus (SE) algorithm which includes first-line, second-line, and third line of treatment in order to minimize treatment failure in emergency settings. More recent options have included aggressive anesthetic doses of medications while second-line medications are being titrated.
