Abstract
Code-switching adalah fenomena umum yang sering ditemukan di masyarakat, khususnya dalam proses pengajaran Bahasa Inggris. Penggunaan Code-switching tidak hanya dapat ditemukan di dalam kelas, namun juga di beberapa media di internet, salah satunya adalah YouTube. Kontennya biasa disebut dengan teaching tutorial. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tipe dan alasan dari Code-switching yang digunakan oleh seorang tutor dari program TEATU di YouTube channel Kampung Inggris LC. Studi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan teori dari Hoffman (1991) untuk menganalisa ucapan yang dihasilkan oleh tutor. Penulis memilih 3 video dari Miss Nocita yang memiliki aktivitas seperti di kelas. Hasil analisa menunjukkan ada 3 tipe dan 5 alasan code-switching yang ditemukan dalam video tersebut, terdiri dari 18 tag code-switching, 19 inter-sentential code-switching, dan 79 intra-sentential code-switching. Tipe yang sering muncul adalah intra-sentential code-switching. Di dalam analisa in juga ditemukan alasan yang terdiri dari 21 kejadian talking about particular topic, 9 kejadian being emphatic about something, 17 kejadian giving interjection, 41 kejadian repetition used for clarification, dan 12 kejadian clarifying the speech content for interlocutor. Hal tersebut terjadi karena tutor sering mengulangi ucapannya dengan menerjemahkan artinya.
