Abstract

Drug Therapy Problems (DTPs) in tuberculosis patients requires special attention because patients with tuberculosis used some drugs. The aim of this study was to investigate profile of DTPs on drug used by patients tuberculosis at Tanah Kali Kedinding Community Health Center Surabaya, Indonesia. The study was a cross sectional prospective study. Data was collected by interviewing the patients. DTPs of patients with tuberculosis who used tuberculosis drug at Tanah Kalikedinding Community Health Center Surabaya in April 2014 were identified by researcher. A DTPs registration form and TB card 01 and 02 were used to document the data. DTPs found by the research team was discussed by an expert panel. Result showed that a total of patient with tuberculosis who used a tuberculosis drug is 36 patients and 32 patients become a respondent. Among these patients, 68.75% (22) had at least one DTPs and 18.75% (6) patients had no DTP. The DTPs categories found in those patients were dosage too low 12.9% (4), dosage too high 3.2% (1), adverse drug reaction (ADR) 58.1% (18) and non-compliance 25.8% (8). In conclusion, DTPs in patients with tuberculosis in community health center were quite high. Pharmacists have a big responsibility to resolve actual DTPs and to prevent potential DTPs.
