Abstract
African American Vernacular English is quite different from Standars American English in several things. This variety of language appears in Orange is The New Black Netflix series. Almost all of the characters in that series are women and there are many african american characters, the writter choose the supporting character Suzzane and Tasha. The author conduct this reasearch to find out the use of AAVE linguistic features of Suzzane and Tasha utterance. The author used Rickford and Rickford’s theory (2000) as the main theories to do a reasearch about AAVE linguistic features. Qualitative approach is used in analyzing the AAVE linguistic features of Suzzane and Tasha through a series which has never been done by the previous student in English Departement. The result show that Suzzane and Tasha produce three of the AAVE Linguistic Features stated by Rickford and Rickford (2000) and there are four factor underlying the use of AAVE Linguistic Features cited in Wolfram (2004).
