Abstract

he Combination therapy model of ethyl acetate fraction of leaves Johar (Ca.ssia siamea Lamk) standardized and artesunate in mice infected with Plasmodium berghei were studied to find combination therapy model that most effective to inhibit ofgrowth P. berghei. The study was carried out by oral administration ofethyl acetate fraction of leaves Jobar (Cassia siamea Lamk) standardized Bod amsunate. Treatment of groups were divided in five groups. They were group I, II, Ill, Bod IV consists of combination ethyl a£eate fraction of leaves Jobar (c. siamea L. ) equivalent to Cassiarin A dose of 15 mglkg BW for 3 a days (d0-d2) except group V that combined with artesunat 29.12 BB mglkg BW that given in difference of frequency. 'fhc group I was given amSUDat for 3 a days (d0-d2), group II was given artesunat for 2 a days (dO·,lI), group III was given artesunat for a day (dO) and group IV was given artesunat for a day (d2), Bod group V only consist of artesunat 29,12 BB mglkg BW fur 3 a days (d0-d2). In addition, there were control positive (amodiakuin 72,8 mglkg BW fur 3 a days (d0-d2) and anesunate 29,12 BB mglkg BW for 3 a days (dO-d2) and negative control (CMC na 0,5 %) for 3 a days. The result showed that group I, II, III, IV, V, control positive that inhibited parasite's growth on day 4 for 100,00 %; 92,75 ±7,43 %; 80,19 ±9,49 0A.; 78,02 ± 14,68 %; 97,10 ±4,34 %; and 100,00 %. It showed that group I gave the best antimalarial activily and pen:entage of inhibition parnsitl:'s growth don't diffi:renl of positive control as standard antimalarial drugs the WHO recommendation.
