Abstract

The purpose of this research is to prove that green tea leaf extract (Camellia sinensis) administration have ameliorative potency of the seminiferous tubule of mice (Mus musculus L.) exposed to cigarette smoke. Twenty five male mice were divided randomly into five groups of treatment (n=5). The treatments of this research are K- (normal mice), K + (mice exposed to cigarette smoke without being given green tea leaf extract), P1 with extract dose 20 mg/kgBB, P2 with extract dose 40 mg/kgBB, P3 with extract dose 60 mg/kgBB. The data of diameter and epithelium thickness obtained were test with ANOVA and Duncan, and the result show there were significant different (p < 0,05) between treatment groups. The result also showing treatment (P3) with 60 mg/kgBB extract dose is best to influence the diameter and thickness epitel. This research has proven that green tea extract have ameloratif potency of seminiferous tubule of mice exposed to cigarette smoke.
