Abstract

The aims of this study is to know the anthelmintic activity of ethanol extract of cayenne pepper leaves (Capsicum frutescens L.) againts worm and eggs of F. gigantica by In Vitro. Method that used in the research was completely randomized design. There were four treatments and each treatments was done in five replications. This research used ten F. gigantica in each treatment for all replication. The observation and recording of motility scoring F. gigantica was done at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 hours and the observation and recording of number egg F. gigantica was done at 5 hours. The obtained data of motility scoring was analyzed using Kruskal Wallis and continued with Z Test, while the obtained data of number egg F. gigantica was analyzed using ANOVA and continued with Dunchan Multiple Range Test. The result of this research showed the ethanol extract of cayenne pepper leaves has anthelmintic activity and the effective concentration was 2.5%. Probit analysis was used to calculate the LC50 and LC90.
