Abstract

Background : Anterior tooth loss with alveolar ridge resorption impairs function and aesthetic, it diminishes patient’s confidence. This case requires surgery treatment or using dentures. Use of fixed partial denture and removable partial denture does not give maximum results in this case (anterior tooth loss with alveolar ridge resorption). To resolve this case, a denture that combines fixed prosthesis (bridge) and removable prosthesis is needed which is commonly known as Andrew's Bridge. Review : Andrew's Bridge prosthesis consists of a removable pontic as a removable component, with a clip, this clip joined with a prefabricated bar of fixed retainer as fixed component. The use of Andrew’s Bridge is able to restore function, aesthetic, and still paying attention to the health of surrounding tissue. Objective : To explain manufacturing of Andrew's Bridge for anterior tooth loss with alveolar ridge resorption to improve aesthetic. Conclusion : The manufacturing procedure of Andrew’s Bridge is making fixed retainer (waxing coping and prefabricated bar, spruing, investing, casting, grinding, sandblasting, degassing to porcelain application, glazing, and staining a needed), making removable pontic (prepare the model, making wax model without widening the plate, investing, losing the wax, to packing and polishing). The last step is clip installment, with hollow out removable pontic for the place of self cure acrylic which is cemented between clip and removable pontic.
