Abstract

In the process of translating hard news using a machine translation “Google translate” will simplify and streamline time. The translation process starts from copying the entire source text and pasting it into Google translate. After the machine translation results are displayed, the translator pastes it on a blank page and then post-editing it by observing the perfect post-editing guidelines. In the process, the translator also implements translation strategies and methods so as to produce translated news that is easy to understand and does not cause misunderstandings. There are 8 translation methods. 17 strategies, and 13 post-editing guidelines that will be discussed in this paper such as word by word translation method, literal, faithful translation method, and etc. Then transference translation strategy, borrowing translation strategy, and etc. Keywords: Post-editing, translation strategies, hard, news, online news
