Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of dilution of Batik wastewater and contact time of L. minor to remove Ammonia and Dyestuff, also to determine the optimum contact time of L. minor. The Batik wastewater sample used was taken from Kampoeng Batik Jetis, Sidoarjo. The initial characteristics of the Batik wastewater indicate that the ammonia concentration is 38.05 mg/L and the absorbance of the dye is 3.041. The variation of dilution used in this study are 10, 20, and 25, with the variation of contact time used are Day-0,1,2,3,6,9,12,18,24 and 30. The result of this study was statistically tested by Friedman’s Two Way Analysis which showed that the variations of dilution and contact time gave a significant difference in the efficiency of Ammonia and dye removal. The treatment conditions that provides optimum efficiency removal of Ammonia and dye were at contact time of L. minor with the wastewater for 6 days.
