Abstract

The research entitled "Puitika Kehilangan Dalam Kumpulan Puisi Esok Yang Selalu Kemarin Karya Ragdi F. Daye" aims to find the meaning of the poetry of loss in the book of poetry collections of Esok Yang Selalu Kemarin. The poetic meaning in question is obtained from examining the diction, imagery, and lyric subject which is then used as a formula to determine the convention of the text that is built as a whole. This research utilizes the lyric poetic theory proposed by Jonathan Culler. The theory describes distance and deictic, theme and epiphany, organic unity, resistance and return. In this study, five samples of poetry were taken, all of which texts have constructions that lead to the concept of loss. The five poems were analyzed to determine the situation of the text and the subject of the lyrics contained in the text. The findings of the analysis are then formulated as poetic poetry. The text of the poem in the book, Esok Yang Selalu Kemarin, implies the theme of loss. The five texts taken, namely “Hiruopal 5”, “Punggung Padang Rumput”, “Kapal Sabut Kelapa”, “Esok yang Selalu Kemarin”, and “Hotel Tepi Sungai” each have a distinctive concept and image but still lead to a different space. referred to as loss. From the results of the analysis, four meanings were found in the form of loss as a contemplative moment, psychic terror, loss as something urban, and loss as an obsessive thing.
