Abstract
Di era pandemi bermain game menjadi hobi baru yang menyenangkan. Salah satu game mobile paling populer di Indonesia adalah Mobile Legends. Game ini menjadi game kompetitif yang melahirkan banyak turnamen dan tim profesional besar seperti tim Alter Ego. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menganalisis fungsi bicara yang disampaikan dalam ucapan Tim Alter Ego yang ditampilkan dalam kompetisi E-Sport Mobile Legends. Tujuan dari studi penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui fungsi ucapan dan bentuk kebahasaan dalam tuturan tim Alter Ego. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, teori tentang fungsi bicara yang dikemukakan oleh Holmes (2013) dan bentuk linguistik oleh Putrayasa (2009) diterapkan untuk melakukan penelitian ini. Empat jenis fungsi bicara ditemukan dalam tuturan tim Alter Ego: referensial (63%), direktif (21%), phatic (13%), dan ekspresif (3%). Ada juga tiga jenis bentuk kebahasaan yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini: deklaratif (66%), imperatif (24%), dan interogatif (10%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis fungsi tutur yang dominan digunakan adalah referensial dalam bentuk deklaratif yang bertujuan untuk memberikan atau menyampaikan informasi guna memenangkan pertandingan. Namun, satu tuturan dapat menyampaikan lebih dari satu fungsi sesuai dengan konteksnya.
