Abstract

An important indicator in country development is the reduction of poverty. Poverty reduction will improve the welfare of a country in a variety of sectors. One of which is the quality of human resources. This study analyzes household spending, government spending in the healthcare sector, and the volume of individuals on welfare who are from member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) from the year 2008 - 2017. The approach used is a quantitative panel data regression analysis and model estimation using fixed effect models. The tested model shows that household consumption, government spending in the health sector, and the volume of workers have a simultaneous effect on welfare regarding OIC countries. However, household consumption and government spending do not demonstrate a significant relationship with its effect on welfare. Whereas the volume of workers on welfare has a positive relationship with congruence to the variable of welfare itself. Policies of each OIC member country in household consumption, government expenditure, and the amount of resources used are key determinants of an individual's welfare.
