Abstract

Translators should use proper methods and principles while translating a book from the source language to produce a good and natural translation result. The most important thing to remember when translating a book, especially a fiction book, is that the translators must keep the message that the sender wishes to convey to the future reader. In this final report, 4 stories from the book entitled Dreams are Made of a Box of Crayons were analyzed using one method based on Newmark’s theory and principles based on Suryawinata & Hariyanto. According to the findings, one method was identified as Literal translation, and the principles was identified as Principles of Faithful Translation to the SL Text.
