Abstract

Covid-19 is a disease caused by the Coronaviridae virus (SARS CoV-2). Since the emergence of the Covid-19 case which first appeared in the city of Wuhan to cause a global pandemic throughout the world, various prevention efforts have been carried out such as maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and also multivitamin supplementation. A person's behavior is influenced by knowledge. Knowledge is a very important cognitive domain for attitudes towards taking preventive action and influencing a person. The purpose of this study was to examine the profile of public knowledge about vitamin supplementation as an immunity enhancer in the Covid-19 era in Surabaya. The first step is to randomly select Surabaya residents aged 17 to 45 years. Then a survey was conducted on respondents who filled out the questionnaire. A total of 360 respondents participated in this study. From the data on the characteristics of respondents with a level of knowledge, a correlation test was carried out which showed a low relationship between age and the level of knowledge of respondents. From the level of education, the majority of respondents had a high school education (55,3%), and from total of respondents (n=318, 88.3%) had taken vitamin supplementation during the Covid-19 era. The level of knowledge is measured from knowledge about covid, knowledge about the immune system, and knowledge about vitamin supplementation in the covid 19 era. The result knowledge about vitamin supplementation as an immunity booster in the Covid-19 era shows that 83.6% have good knowledge and 16.4 have sufficient knowledge. So, it can be obtained from the overall results in this study, the knowledge possessed by Surabaya residents has good knowledge.
