Abstract

Media is required to communicate knowledge to the rest of the world, and the media is delivered through translation. The source language must be translated into the target language in a translation involving two or more languages. Translation is widespread in story book. The goal of translating the story book is to make the result of translation easy to understand to people all around the world. When translating story books, the translator should use proper methods and strategies. The most important thing to remember while translating a story book, in this case a children story book, is that the translators must fulfill the story book goals, which means that the book must be equivalent to the source's form. Equivalence is defined as having the same meaning or worth. This book used Newmark Theory to assess a good translation result written in Bahasa Indonesia. In order to produce a good translation result, deciding the translation method and principle was critical. The translator may faces a challenges when choosing the proper method and principle, that make the translator getting more experience and expertise in translating short stories.
