Abstract

Innovation is vital for pharmacy and it can be implemented in various conditions. In its application, telepharmacy can be useful when pharmacists cannot give pharmaceutical services directly to patients. But in practice, the readiness and acceptance are important determinants of its successful implementation. This research is an observational study that aims to overview the community readiness and acceptance of telepharmacy services in East Java. In this study, the readiness assessment refers to the TRI 2.0 theory and the acceptance assessment refers to the TAM theory. Primary data was collected from 1.111 respondents who participated, then analyzed using descriptive analysis and simple correlation analysis. The results of this study provide an overview that the community has a high level of readiness and acceptance for telepharmacy services. Average level community readiness for telephamacy services was 3,42 and average level community acceptance for telepharmacy services was 82,59. Individual characteristics that can affect are age, education, income level, frequency of visiting pharmacy, and self-desire to use telepharmacy services.
