Abstract
Palatoplasty adalah suatu tindakan bedah untuk mengatasl celah langit-Iangit. (palatoschizis). Cleft palate (palatoschizis) adalah suatu celah dan atap cavum oris. Istilah klasiknya adalah urano schisis: ouranous (Yunani) berarti langit-Iangit atau atap mulut. Schisis berarti celah, sedangkan staphyloschisis adalah suatu celah dan soft palate atau velum; staphyle (Yunani) berati uvula. (1, 2, 24-)
