Abstract
The purpose of this research project is to explore and determine the use of commercial e-journal that library is subscribed Library by the students in Universitas Airlangga Indonesia. and the obstacles which were faces by the students in using the e-journals. The data collection was done using structured questionnaire and through interviews with students and librarians. The 380 respondents were gained using Yamane formula. Data processing and data analysis both used SPSS and content analysis. The use of e-journal subscribed by library in UNAIR is 66.8% and 33.2% have not used because they prefer to use journals on the internet using search engine facilities like google, where the journal is open source. Based on data, campus becomes the most visited place by the students to access e-journal. The use of e-journal for classes is the students’ top reason and purpose. Based on the findings and analysis, it could be concluded that many of Universitas Airlangga students make use of the provided e-journals in the university library. However, the usage of commercial journals is still considered to be never, scoring only 1.32 from 1-4 range of score. This is caused by several obstacles such as slow internet connection, locked journals because they have not yet been subscribed, not knowing how to access the journals, and even language barrier.
